The Path of Clay (ROBG–4)

To improve the sustainable use of clay, as a cultural heritage, by developing boutique tourism based on this resource in the area.

How?                                                     

  • Promotion events
  • Development of 1 new tourist route “The path of the clay”
  • Training in sculptural technique – for 50 youths
  • Organizing art workshops – 2 in Cherven Bryag, BG and 2 in Calafat, RO
  • Organizing festivals – 1 in BG and 1 in RO, each year
  • New Open Air Museum of Clay Art in Cherven Bryag, Pleven and in Calafat, Dolj
  • Audio guides of elements of the joint integrated tourist product
  • Elaboration of paper documents: 1) common strategy for the development of tourism boutique, 2) tourist route "The Path of Clay", 3) Catalog with clay artwork
    • 1 Media tour – for 50 persons, including media representatives and bloggers

 

Results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 3000 increase of the visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage and attraction; 6 integrated tourism products; 1 common strategy for the development of boutique tourism in the project area.

Programme results: minimum 1350 increase of the number of tourists’ overnights in the project area9supported cross border mechanisms to enhance cooperation capacity: 1 strategy, 1 website, 1 online platform, 2 blogs, 4 study visits

Project status

The project was finalized.

Results:

-      1 new tourist route “The path of the clay” developed

-      1 training in sculptural technique – for 50 youths was organized

-      2 art workshops in Cherven Bryag, BG and 2 in Calafat, RO were organized 1 festival in BG and 1 festival in RO were organized

-      The Open Air Museum of Clay Art in Cherven Bryag, Pleven and in Calafat, Dolj were organized

-      The followings documents were elaborated: 1) common strategy for the development of tourism boutique, 2) tourist route "The Path of Clay", 3) Catalog with clay artwork

Ancient roman cultural heritage interactive visualization environment for the cross border area between Bulgaria and Romania

What’s the goal?

Preservation and promotion of historically and culturally significant sites from the lower part of the Roman Limes, a UNESCO World Heritage site candidate.

494.928,67 euro, out of which 420.689,37 euro ERDF

 How?

  • Categorization and selection of the ancient roman heritage sites;
  • Digitalization of the available resources about the selected sites;
  • On-site aerial and ground photoshoots, data processing and creation of the information database;
  • Development of the web-based information platform and mobile application;
  • Training events and dissemination activities;
  • Information and publicity.

Results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs:

- 2 integrated tourism products;

- 1 common strategy.

Programme results:

- 4,500 tourists per year in the targeted sites.

Project status

The project is finalized. The following results were achieved:

A joint strategy for popularisation of the Roman cultural and historical sites was elaborated.

2 management plans were developed as well, one for raising the level of awareness and one for preservation and conservation of Roman historical and archaeological locations.

16 Roman sites from the Ro-Bg cross-border area were further digitalized.

3D digital models of artifacts and objects were created and are available at the permanent exhibitions established at the headquarters of B2 and B3.

An interactive web-based information platform was created and is available at www.romanforts.eu.

-The RomanForts mobile application was developed and is available for free download from the Android and iOS app stores.

 To achieve these results, specialized equipment was purchased by the project partners including 3D printers, 3D scanners, drones, professional video cameras and others.

Informative materials were designed, produced and distributed among the participants to the project events.

Two training events have been conducted with a focus on Unmanned aerial vehicles (March 2017 in Constanta) and on 3D scanning and printing technologies (April 2017 in Ruse). The possibilities to implement these technologies for the digitalization, visualization and popularisation of the ancient Roman cultural heritage were presented to the general public and the project target groups.

Two dissemination workshops were organized in Ruse and Constanta.

- The results of the project implementation were presented in many events in Bulgaria, Romania and in other countries, including the Annual conference of the CBC in 2016 (Romania), the Museums Night events in 2016 and 2017 (Bulgaria and Romania), the Ancient Heritage Festival "Eagle on the Danube" in 2017 (Bulgaria), the Scientific Conferences Telecom 2016 (Bulgaria), EEVP 2016 (Bulgaria), ITHET 2017 (Macedonia) and EAEEIE 2017 (France), the National Forum “3D Printing - the Forerunner of the 4th Industrial Revolution", etc.

The project results were presented to the Minister of Tourism, the Minister of Education and Sciences and government representatives of Bulgaria.

Risk Management for Large Scale Infrastructures in the Romanian Bulgarian cross border area

Increase the local public awareness regarding hazards related to large scale infrastructure (LSI) through training and communication.

Programme outputs: 100.000 people benefiting from actions of risk management.

Programme results: Improved joint risk management in the cross-border area.

Project status

Project is finalized.

  • The project web site was created: www.robg-risckmanagement.eu.
  • 12 movies and 3 books (Best practice book; Proceedings of kick –off conference; Training and communication skill book) were elaborated and are aviable on the project web site;
  • 2 studies were elaborated: “Large Scale Infrastructures, relevant in the cross-border area Romania-Bulgaria” and “Study on Assessment Methodology and Defining Impact Indicators for Large Scale Infrastructures” related to the assessment of LSI generated vulnerabilities, hazards and calculated risks;
  • Trainings, conferences, workshops with main actors involves in the risck management at the large scale were held.
  • 93,008 people have benefit from actions of risk management by participation to the events, trainings, meetings organized within the project and by information using the media chanel

A heritage-friendly cross-border economy in Romania and Bulgaria

What’s the goal?

To facilitate a common approach on the sustainable use of cultural and natural heritage, in order to determine the growth and creation of jobs in the border area RO–BG, by improving tourism sector.

What’s the budget?

334.181,00 euro, out of which 284.053,85 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 102,500 euro.

-1 network of institutions to implement the strategy for a heritage-friendly business environment in the Romanian – Bulgarian border, trained and well equipped with implementation tools (guidelines, on-line tools, training modules, multi-annual action plans and a communication plan).

Programme results: 200.000 more tourists overnights in the CBC region.
