YoungVolunteer (ROBG 296)

What’s the goal?

The project’s main objective is to develop the volunteering spirit especially within young people (students in high schools, 15-19 years old) through a series of mechanisms.

How is it going to happen?

  • 2 new cabinets from each high school will be equipped in order for the volunteers to learn and practice different measures of intervening in case of emergencies. For the cabinets the necessary equipment will be procured: mannequins, stretcher, medical equipment for learning (masks, manual ventilation, cervical collar, splint, etc.), first aid kit for learning, video projector and interactive smartboard, furniture; Teachers will be trained in order to be able to teach the volunteers;
  • 2 joint partnerships in the field of joint early warning and emergency response with public authorities (1 in Romania and 1 in Bulgaria);
  • one web platform that will host the young volunteer community. The web platform will contain all documents of the projects, instructions on emergency situation, pictures and information about the organized events and a forum where the volunteers can organize and exchange information in order to better coordinate;
  • 4 volunteering campaigns organized in the eligible area of the programme, Calarasi/Silistra region: 2 pilot actions will be organized in Romania and 2 pilot actions will be organized in Bulgaria (4 days each).

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs:

- 17,538 Population benefiting from flood protection measures;

- 17,538 Population benefiting from forest fire protection measures;

Programme results: The quality of the joint risk management in the CBC area

Project status

The project implementation was finalized on 04.03.2020 and the following objectives have been achieved:

- B3 - Theoretical High school “Mihai Eminescu” (RO) and B4 - “High school “Vasil Levski” Bulgaria have established and equipped two Emergency cabinets for first aid at their premises, which were equipped with mannequins, stretchers, medical equipment for learning: masks, manual ventilation, cervical collar, splint, blood pressure monitor, blood glucose test and first aid kit for learning. Both cabinets are operational and used by the school students for the training courses of using the equipment.

- 2 joint partnerships in the field of joint early warning and emergency response with public authorities (1 in Romania and 1 in Bulgaria) were established - the first partnership from Romania is signed between LB, B3 and Calarasi Emergency Situation Inspectorate and Red Cross Calarasi and the second the partnership from Bulgaria is signed between B2, B4 and Fire Safety and Civil Department Silistra and Red Cross Silistra;

- A project web platform has been developed that hosts an established young volunteer community and can be found on https://www.youngvolunteer.eu/ ;

- 793 people (students and teachers) have participated in 4 Pilot Volunteer campaigns - 2 pilot actions were organized in Calarasi, Romania and 2 pilot actions were organized in Glavinitsa, Bulgaria (4 days each);

UCLM (ROBG-131)

United for a Common Labor Market: an integrated approach for labor mobility within the cross-border area between Romania and Bulgaria

What’s the goal?

Facilitating employment and labor mobility in the cross-border area through a holistic approach connecting local public administrations with private businesses and individual citizens in Romania and Bulgaria

What’s the budget?

524,957.17 euro, out of which 446,213.59 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 284.710 euro for EMMA Foundation and 129.199 euro for European Information Centre

How?                                                     

  • Developing a CBC joint network of LPAs, recruitment companies and vocational schools
  • Vocational training for youth in both regions
  • An awareness campaign for promoting employment opportunities throughout the CBC area
  • A CBC online job platform for economic interconnections between stakeholders
  • Creating joint methods and common tools

Results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 12 initiatives that activate workforce mobility in the cross border area; 1030 participants in joint local employment initiatives and joint training; 2000 participants in joint educational and training schemes to support youth employment, educational opportunities and higher and vocational education across borders;

Programme results: 234,607 persons from Giurgiu, Teleorman, Veliko Turnovo and Ruse municipalities will have access to joint employment initiatives

Project status

The project was finalized on in June 2018.

Sociological study to identify the needs and demands of the labor market within the cross-border communities was realised in each country and the results were presented in a dedicated conference on 30.06.2017, in Giurgiu.

The cross border network was created by recruiting organizations, Local Public Authorities s and vocational schools, which got together to discuss the labour market and the opportunities for common projects and cooperation in 4 network meeting organized in Veliko Tarnovo (20.07.2017), Giurgiu (28.07.2017), Ruse (05.10.2017) and Alexandria (13.10.2017).

2 guides - “The Romania – Bulgaria cross border employers guide” and the “The Romania – Bulgaria cross border employee guide” were developed and printed out in 2000 copies.

A bilingual job portal aiming at the interconnection of jobseekers with employers was created, populated with available jobs and published at http://www.romania-bulgaria-jobs.eu/

Four cross-border job fairs were organized in Veliko Tarnovo (18-19.10.2017), Giurgiu (20-21.10.2017), Ruse (06-07.03.2018) and Alexandria (20-21.04.2018).

Vocational guidance, counseling and psychological attitude testing sessions were implemented for 50 students in Giurgiu and 50 students in Ruse, 50 students in Teleorman and 502 students in Veliko Tarnovo.

What’s the goal?                                              

To improve the sustainable use of natural heritage and resources and cultural heritage in cross-border region – Districts Vratsa and Ruse, Bulgaria and District Olt, Romania and to increase the number of tourist’s overnights.

250,198.80 euro, out of which 212,668.98 ERDF

Programme outputs: increase with 1250 of expected number of visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage and attraction, 1 integrated tourism product

Programme results: the number of tourists’ overnights in the CBC region will increase with 250

Project status

The project was finalized.

Results:

     - Study "Jewelry and embroidery, pottery, stonework and wood processing in the cross border region during different epoch" within Districts Vratsa and Ruse (BG) and Olt Country (RO)

    - 1 Festival for ancient cultures and traditional crafts, Assembly “Crafts – yesterday, today and tomorrow”

    - 1 International conference on the topic "Cultural and historical heritage in Miziya and Dacia"

    - 2 summer workshops in pottery and embroidery in town of Slatina

    - 3 summer workshops in jewelry, stone carving and woodworking / pottery in Vratsa

    - 3 summer workshops in Ruse, with students and young people from the cross border region

Developing a Common Approach to Education

in Entrepreneurship at School

To increase the capacity of the educational institutions through collaboration within the cross-border region.

145,020.62 euro, out of which 123,267.52 ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 60,338 euro for Lead Beneficiary and 28,731 euro for Beneficiary 2.

How is it going to happen?

  • Creation of cross-border web-portal named “Entrepreneurship Spirit at Schools” and virtual manual for entrepreneurship training at school;
  • Coordination of instruments, methods and best practices for assisting teachers in their classes of entrepreneurship;
  • Development of joint innovative entrepreneurship curriculum and textbook suitable for training in elementary schools;
  • Modernization of school facilities in designated entrepreneurship zones at school;
  • Information and publicity: t-shirts, posters, leaflets, brochures, , indoor banner, notepads, pens, folders, information boards; organizing 2 conferences in Romania and Bulgaria;

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs:

- 6 supported cross border mechanism to enhance cooperation capacity –1 joint curriculum, 2 joint textbooks printed, 1 web-based virtual manual jointly developed, 1 joint web portal, 1 joint network between two educational institutions created;

Programme results: increased level of co-ordination of the public institutions in the eligible area.

Project status

The implementation period of the project was finalized on 06.12.2018.

The following objectives have been achieved:

A joint partnership has been established by the project partners;

A web portal (www.ro-bg.eu ) was created, which provides comprehensive information about the two partner schools and reference information for the relevant education ministries and regional education inspectorates in the Montana and Teleorman district centers in three languages - English, Bulgarian and Romanian.

The experts and teachers in entrepreneurship learnt about two interesting models and European practices that have not been applied so far in the field of professional training of teachers in entrepreneurship in school.

The curriculums and the textbooks have been developed and they can be found on: http://en.edu.ro-bg.eu/resources . The content of the curriculums enables the acquisition of basic knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and new business management.

The curriculums has been developed in three parts:

1. Curriculum in ceramics

2. Curriculum in weaving and embroidery

3. Curriculum in wood carving

Along with the curriculums modernization of the two schools which are partners within the project have been performed, namely B22, has equipped the existing cabinets for teaching entrepreneurship with furniture, air-conditioning system, TV, 1 computer, 3 laptops, refrigerator, info board, exhibition stand, video projector with projection screen, 3 security cameras, 2 mobile phones, 20 flash memory storage devices, 1 laser printer, 1 multifunctional device, 1 magnetic board and 1 flipchart, while the LB have designated the following areas in entrepreneurship called "New Old Crafts" - pottery, carpet weaving and embroidery, wood carving and have equipped them with furniture, exhibition stand, wall with creative paint, CCTV system, roller for clay boards, ceramic oven, laboratory island, lathe, mobile laboratory, demonstration table, 10 Digital scales, 6 Vessels to extract dye, 2 Portable stand for brochures, 2 air-conditioning systems, binding machine, paper cutting machine, laminator and machine for embossing and cutting;
