Joint Volunteering for a Safer Life

The project’s objective is to improve the theoretical and practical preparedness of volunteer emergency response units and enhance the coordination and efficient reaction in case of disaster in the cross-border area.

How is it going to happen?

  • Risk analysis of the cross border area

  • Development of a joint training program for volunteer emergency response units
  • Conduct theoretical and practical trainings in Bulgaria and Romania

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs:4,779,754 people benefiting from actions of risk management, 4591666 people benefiting from flood protection measures, 4,779,754 people benefiting from forest fire protection measures, 5 joint partnerships in the field of joint early warning and emergency response

Programme results: increased quality of the joint risk management in the CBC area from inappropriate (2.00) to satisfactory (3.00)

Project status

The project is under implementation and Significant results haven been achieved regarding the main activities of the project:

Within the frame of a signed service contract, B2 finalized the elaboration of the risk analysis of the cross-border area as it follows:

1) Analysis of the scale, frequency, geographical concentration, seasonality and prerequisites for disastrous events in the cross-border area;

2) Analysis of regional and municipal plans for disaster preparedness and emergency response for a pilot region (Silistra District and Calarasi County);

3) Joint report on the emergency response preparedness in the cross-border area:uploaded on the project web page still only in BG language(https://volunteering-robg.com/bg/2020/01/23/%d0%b0%d0%bd%d0%b0%d0%bb%d0%b8%d0%b7-%d0%bd%d0%b0-%d1%80%d0%b8%d1%81%d0%ba%d0%b0-%d0%b2-%d1%82%d1%80%d0%b0%d0%bd%d1%81%d0%b3%d1%80%d0%b0%d0%bd%d0%b8%d1%87%d0%bd%d0%b8%d1%8f-%d1%80%d0%b0%d0%b9%d0%be-2/).

There are foreseen to be used in the development of the training materials for the future workshops, that are supposed to be organized during the project.

B3 finalized the tender documentation for the procurement of specialized equipment - protective suits for firefighting and training tower. Further, it is reported the finalization of the technical specifications for the procedure following to which additional market research was carried out.

Within the Investment Package “Construction of the Training Facility”, LB signed a contract-Design and Engineering works for the establishment of a Training center for volunteers in Belitsa \The Technical Project was delivered to the LB together with the expected approvals obtained. In addition, LB reported the finalization of the tender procedure for Construction supervision for the establishment of a Training center for volunteers in Belitsa, having already the contract signed.
