ROBG-383 Better connected secondary and tertiary nodes to TEN-T core and comprehensive network through joint CBC measures

What’s the goal?

The project will improve road traffic from the centre of Bulgaria to Romania though modernization of 6.614 km of road infrastructure connecting secondary and tertiary nodes to core and comprehensive TEN-T infrastucture.

 

What’s the budget?

4,769,687.25 euro, out of which 4,054,234.14 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 94,146 euro for LB, 32,706 euro for B2 and 3,828 euro for B3

Who is doing it?

Lead beneficiary: Velikovo Municipality (Bulgaria)

Partners:  Territorial Administrative Unit Calafat Municipality (Romania)

How is it going to happen?                      

  • Modernisation of 6.614 km of local and regional roads of cross-border importance, which directly connect secondary and tertiary nodes on both sides of Danube to core Ten-T infrastructure;
  • Coordination of mechanisms for overcomming new joint challanges emmerging from the functioning of core Ten-T infrastructure on the Pan european corridors 4, 8 and 9;
  • Organization of raising awareness activities for safety of citizens in points, where the heavy burden of road traffic meats local population with the support of NGO.
             

 

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 6.614 km of reconstructed or upgraded roads

3 joint mechanisms to facilitate the connection of secondary/tertiary nodes to TEN-T infrastructure (e.g. route guidance, incidents/emergencies detection and management, studies on traffic flows, feasibility studies addressing cross-border

Programme results: 85,854 Cross border population served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T

 

Project status (reflected in progress reports)

The project is in early implementation. Will be back with details after the beneficiaries submit the first progress report.
