Integrated Multimedia Platform for Active Culture and Tourism

What’s the goal?

To promote the CBC area through innovative IT solutions and to overcome the seasonal character of tourism in the entire CBC area and sustainable and rational usage of cultural, natural and historical resources.

How is it going to happen?

  • Creating a database of cultural, natural and historical sites on the territory of entire CBC area;
  • Developing an innovative and interactive online GIS based platform for provision of information and tourist services;
  • Promoting the CBC area as an attractive tourist destination with minimum 5 complex tourist routes.

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 6 integrated  tourism products/services, increase with 2000 of expected number of visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage and attraction.

Programme results: 100 000 overnights expected in 5 years.

Project status

The project is finalized. All abovementioned results were achieved.

Team members for LB were appointed. On 16th of February 2016 was held the first team meeting in Vidin district, Bulgaria. Office equipment was delivered. Approval for visualization according to the rules of the program was received from JTS. LB nominated 5 experts who participated in workshop organized by B4, on June 9-10, 2016 in Calafat, Dolj, Romania. Also 5 experts from LB participated in workshop, organized by B2 for discussing the Methodology for creating multimedia formats.

LB received all services for tender documentation according to the signed contract No 15.2.1.056-01/19.03.2016 with “Ability Auditing” Ltd. for the service consultants for preparation of tender documents.

LB received the methodology for database collection and special analyses according to the signed contract on 26.04.2016 with “Bul Pro Consulting” Ltd.

LB received the products from the contract for Collection of data base and special analyses from “ProActive team” Ltd with contract No 15.2.1.056-03/25.07.2016. The activity is finalized and paid.

LB signed contract for development of interactive GIS based platform with mobile application for supply of information and touristic services with DZZD “Gis za regionalno razvitie” (Company under the Obligations and Contracts Act "GIS for regional development") signed on 23.02.2017 contract No.15.2.1.056-04/23.02.2017. Interim payments was made under the contract and general structure of the GIS platform was presented to the LB team.

Implementation of part of Activity 10 was presented by Beneficiary 3 and accepted by LB.

Implementation of Activity 7, 8 and 9 by Beneficiary 4 were accepted by LB.

LB received the product and made final payment under Contract with subject "Purchase of virtual server for storage of GIS based platform".

B2 received activity 3 of "creation of multimedia formats" contract.

Roman frontier, eMS 16

 Development and promotion of an integrated cultural heritage tourism product: Route “Roman frontier within the cross-border region Romania-Bulgaria”

What’s the goal?

The enhancement of the sustainable use of common cultural heritage within the CBC area through the development of an integrated culture heritage tourism product: Route “Roman frontier within the cross-border region Romania-Bulgaria”.

What’s the budget?

908,408.15 euro, out of which 772,146.93 ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 293,542 euro

Who is doing it?

Lead beneficiary (LB): Association of Danube River Municipalities “Danube” (ADRM)

Beneficiary 2 (B2): Constanta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Shipping and Agriculture – CCINA Constanta

When is it happening?

Start date: 02.02.2016

End date: 01.02.2018

Duration: 24 months

Where is it happening?

Constanta in Romania

Ruse in Bulgaria

How is it going to happen?

  • Organization of 16 round tables;
  • 1 conference;
  • Elaboration of 1 common preliminary study on Roman heritage;
  • 2 common strategies – 1 on development and 1 on marketing of the Roman heritage tourism product;
  • 1 Roman heritage tourism product;
  • 1 set of tourism product promotional materials.

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs:1 integrated tourism product and 2 common strategies for the development and marketing of the tourism product.

Programme results: An increase in the number of visits with 50,000 and increase of overnight stays with 50,000.

Project status

Project is finalized.

  16 round tables were organized, as well as one conference.

  1 common preliminary study on Roman heritage was developed.

  2 common strategies – 1 on development and 1 on marketing of the Roman heritage tourism product were developed.

  1 Roman heritage tourism product was realized.

  1 set of tourism product promotional materials was realized.

Plums For Junk - eMS code: 11

What’s the goal?

To inform the population of the target area about the wild life in the protected areas and engage the people in concrete actions for protecting the environment in towns and Natura 2000 protected areas.

What’s the budget?

258.191,52 euro, out of which 219.462,79 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 44.287 euro.

Who is doing it?

Lead beneficiary (LB): Foundation “Phoenix – 21 century”, Vidin (Bulgaria)

Beneficiary 2 (B2): Association “Regional partnerships for sustainable development – Vidin” (Bulgaria)

Beneficiary 3 (B3): Pro-Mehedinti Association (Romania)

When is it happening?

Start date: 02.02.2016

End date: 01.08.2017

Duration: 18 months

Where is it happening?

Vidin, Vratsa, Montana in Bulgaria

Mehedinti in Romania

How is it going to happen?

  • 4 PLUMS FOR JUNK campaigns in Bulgaria and 4 in Romania
  • 2 studies per country for wildlife in protected areas in Mehedinti and Vidin-Oryahovo regions;
  • Developing a study of the situation of protected areas of Natura 2000 and wetlands along the Danube;
  • Organization of seminars and conferences for institutional and stakeholders;                                                                                                                               
  • Joint strategy for management of protected areas in the CBC area;
  • Travelling scout camp and PLUMS FOR JUNK cleansing festival, information campaign in local schools;
  • Filming wild life and eco issues along the Danube;
  • Promo materials and media campaigns.

- 1 joint strategy for management developed and signed Memorandum of agreement;

Programme results:

- 7 NATURA 2000 sites with coordinated management tools (3 in Romania and 4 in Bulgaria)

Project status:

Project was finalized.

2 studies on the status of wetlands and protected Natura 2000 areas in the municipalities along the Danube -1 for Bulgaria and Romania were realized.

8 informational seminars were organized (4 in Romania, 4 in Bulgaria).

 A common strategy for management of protected areas was developed and a Memorandum of Understanding and future cooperation was signed.

2 traveling Scout camp in the protected areas in Bulgaria and Romania were organized.

8 cleansing campaigns under the slogan “Plums for junk’ were carried (4 in Bulgaria, 4 in Romania).
