You’ve been travelling across Romania and Bulgaria, wandering through amazing places, knowing beautiful people, learning great local stories and working hard to capture the perfect shot that best shows off your artistic style and goals. Now that it’s all coming together, you may consider sending your best photographs out to our contest.

Sharing your work with the world is an important part of the creative process. Thanks to this competition, yes, you could wind up with a prize (promotional materials) and you can earn prestige being featured in the future Programme’s promotional materials and in social media. You never know… so start submitting!

The aim of the contest is to show the world how the cross-border region between Romania and Bulgaria became more beautiful, attractive, safer through European funds, being guided by the following indicative themes:

Getting Outside
Enter a photo that conveys the joy, freedom, or excitement of discovery you feel when you are outside (roads in your area, landscapes, geological or climatological features, etc).

Art
Enter a creative photo that showcases your unique artistic visions (Photographs manipulated for artistic purposes by applying digital and/or traditional special effects).

Power of Life
Enter a powerful photo that conveys how beautiful, vibrant, healthy, and full of energy life can be (missions for saving lives, locales, peoples or activities that convey a sense of place).

Stories
Enter a photo that tells a whole story all in a single image (events, objects or activities connecting the locals to their history or their cultural heritage, photographs that tell us what it means to be Romanian or Bulgarian and provide a sense of what it is like to live in this area).

How: In order to sign up for the contest, entries will be sent to the e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The entries will be posted on the Programme’s Facebook page.

When: The photo submission starts on 20th of July, 2018 and ends on 10th of September, 2018.

Voting: All entries will be reviewed and selected based on their relevance to the theme and photo quality. From 1st of August until 10th of September 2018, the visitors may express their preferences on the posted photos on Facebook. The most popular photos will be included in the promotional materials of the Programme. Prizes (promotional materials) will be awarded to the top photographers!

Copyrights & Usage Rights:
You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant a free, perpetual license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of the Programme, exhibition. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The Programme will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
