Joint investments for emergency situations in Olt County Council and Dolna Mitropolia Municipality (ROBG–244)

What’s the goal?

The overall objective of the project is to improve the emergency preparedness and risk prevention capacity in the cross-border area of Olt and Pleven districts, namely Dolna Mitropolia Municipality.

Programme results: increased quality of the joint risk management in the CBC area through the joint partnerships created.

Project status (reflected in progress reports)

The project is currently under implementation. The implementation period was extended with 9 months until 24.07.2022.

LB has received the 3 ATVs and the jeep pick-up, which is already in the custody of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Olt. A contract was signed for the delivery of the auto-pump on 04.06.2021. The contractor has 7 months to deliver the auto-pump since the signing of the contract.

B2 signed contracts for the following equipment: backhoe loader with additional equipment attached to it, wood shredding machine, mini wheel loader and rotary snow blowers and a waste brush with a water container, off-road vehicle.

On 19.08.2021 the wood shredding machine and the mini-wheel loader, rotary snow blower and garbage brush with water container were delivered.

B2 expects to sign the contracts for the delivery of the aerial platform and for the tractor, soon.

A two days training was organized by B2 via an online meeting on the ZOOM platform, during June 22nd – 23rd, 2021. It was attended by representatives of the Voluntary Formation from Dolna Mitropolia, representatives of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Olt, and Olt Gendarmerie.

During the first day of the training, presentations were held on: “Legislation for the activities of voluntary formations in the Republic of Bulgaria”, “Main topics in the training and preparation of voluntary formations” and presentations on “Algorithm for joint actions between the structures for fire safety and protection of the population and municipal voluntary formations”, “Natural disasters - prevention and sharing of good practices”. On the second day of the training, a documentary film “Savior 2016” and a presentation on “Aerospace technologies in the fight against natural disasters” were presented.

Furthermore, the joint action plan was elaborated.

LB organized the second press-conference of the project on 28th of July 2021, in Slatina. The participants were representatives of both implementation teams, representatives of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Olt and the Inspectorate of Gendarmerie Olt.

On 29th of July 2021 a press-article in the newspaper “Gazeta de Sud” presenting information about the stage of the project, was published.

B2 also had a press release published on 06.07.2021 in local media.
