“Joint risk management for efficient reactions of the local authorities in the emergency situations”

The main objective of the project is to improve joint risk management in the cross-border area covered by the two municipalities: Calarasi and Belene.

What’s the budget?

987,468.06 euro, out of which 839,347.84 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 22,331 euro for LB and 9,955 euro for B2

How is it going to happen?                      

  • Preparation of the workshop "Best practices in the prevention of crisis situations in the cross-border region"
  • Development of an on-line platform providing information for prevention and management of crises
  • Building capacity in risk management in Belene and Calarasi

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 82,891 people benefiting from actions of risk management, from flood protection measures and from forest fire protection measures, 1 joint partnership in the field of joint early warning and emergency response

Programme results: Improved quality of the joint risk management in the CBC area

Project status

The workshop "Best practices in the prevention of crisis situations in the cross-border region" was organized in Belene, in the period 28.08.2019-29.08.2019. 20 professional persons in the area of disasters risks reduction (10 Bulgarians and 10 Romanians) participated to the workshop.

During the workshop, a partnership agreement between Belene Municipality and Calarasi Municipality was elaborated, pending to be signed by the legal representatives of both beneficiaries.

The tender documentation for purchasing the equipment (1 Backhoe Loader, 1 movable and 2 stationary aggregates, 5 Chainsaws, 5 Snow removal machines, Garbage transportation machine, 1 Tractor with trailer, snow blower and sand spreader) was elaborated by Belene Municipality and the public procurement procedure was launched in October 2019.

Calarasi Municipality has finalized the public procurement procedure for purchasing the equipment and expects to sign the supply contract. Through this contract B2 will purchase 3 bobcats, 1 Water removal vehicle, 2 Snow removal vehicle, 1 loader.
