Project status

The project management team and the joint expert group were set up and the project kick-off conference was organized in Craiova. A conference "EU and the cross-border cooperation programmes in support to the local communities" was also organized on 11 October 2017 in Berkovitsa by Beneficiary 3. Both the LB and B3 produced promotion and information materials (information boards, folders, pens, notepads, indoor and outdoor banner, leaflets, posters), part of which were disseminated among the target group, as well as the selected participants in the forthcoming trainings.

The BG members of the joint expert group started working on the survey and study of the obstacles and problems associated with discouraging disadvantaged people from entering the labor market in the CB area. .The efforts of the expert group also focused on the preparation of a program for the forthcoming trainings of the target group representatives, composed of 2 modules - Legislation applicable to work and business in the CB area and How to start your own business - aspects of training related to the matter known as lifestyle entrepreneurship. The manual to help disadvantaged people in self-employment and job search is also being prepared.

A consultancy center was set up in Berkovitsa by Beneficiary 3, designed to provide information and advice to unemployed disadvantaged persons for employment opportunities and assist employers for hiring unemployed disadvantaged people.

The project website, which will be gradually converted into a platform for CBC to help the disadvantaged on the labor market, was also developed in the reporting period and is available in BG and EN at www.romaberk.eu.

The Project implementation lags behind on Romanian territory, since Beneficiary 2 faced financial difficulties and is currently being replaced by a new Romanian Partner – University of Craiova.
