Linking TEN through better connection between tertiary nodes Turnu Magurele and Levski for sustainable development of the area

To improve the connection among core and comprehensive TEN-T networks using the tertiary nodes Turnu Magurele and Levski as “bridgeheads” for joint transport system.

How is it going to happen?

  • Organizing conferences at the beginning and end of the project;
  • Publishing 16 press releases for promoting the project;
  • Elaboration of information and publicity materials (billboards, leaflets, posters, roll-up banner);
  • Setting up the traffic management system;
  • Awareness campaign for the traffic management system;
  • Setting up an integrated awareness system for traffic safety measures;

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs:

- 8,977 km total length of reconstructed or upgraded roads

- 2 joint mechanisms created (traffic management system and joint safety measures system)

Programme results: Cross border population (23,427 people: Turnu Magurele = 21,233 persons and Levski = 2,194 persons) served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T

Project status

Services for project management, translation and interpretation and information and publicity have been contracted to ensure the general management of the project, as well as the visibility of the project and of the funding organization.

The conference for the beginning of the project was organized on 7th of June 2017 at Turnu Magurele headquarters.  50 people participated (representatives of the two municipalities, stakeholders, along with local press journalists). Information and publicity materials have been prepared and disseminated to all participants.

The Lead Beneficiary has signed the necessary contracts for execution of the investments. The execution of the works contract (value of 1,268,150 euro) for modernization of 1,909 km of roads in Turnu Magurele has registered important progress, (80% realized).

B2 already finalized the main activities of the project. The works execution(total value of the contract for execution 2,161,330 euro) for modernization of roads in Levski Municipality (7,068 km upgraded) is 100% realized.
