What’s the goal?

The project is aiming at improving the capacity to react and solve emergency situations caused by snowdrifts and icing phenomena, floods and fires in cross border area Boynitsa (Bulgaria)- Brăniştea, Broşteni (Romania)

What’s the budget?

1,040,809.39 euro, out of which 884,687.98 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 178,686 euro for LP, 34,713 euro for B2 and 144,283 euro for B3.

Who is doing it?

Lead beneficiary (LB): Territorial Administrative Brăniştea Commune(RO)

Beneficiary 2 (B2): Territorial Administrative Unit- Broşteni Commune (RO)

Beneficiary 3 (B3): Boynitsa Municipality (BG)

When is it happening?

Start date: 17.03.2017

End date: 16.03.2020

Duration: 36 months

How is it going to happen?                      

  • acquisition of special equipment for dealing with emergency situations caused by snowdrifts and icing phenomena, floods and fires;
  • a unified risk management system (common procedures and measures for risk management);

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 6.409 people benefiting from actions of risk management, 4.692 people benefiting from flood protection measures, 1.827 people benefiting from forest fire protection measures, 1 joint partnership in the field of joint early warning and emergency response

Project status

The main achievements as a result of partner cooperation in the project are:

- settle up the project team as designed in the application form (LB, B2 and B3), contracting external consultancy services for project management and coordination (LB, B2 and B3), advance requests (LB, B2 and B3), holding 4 management meetings (LB, B2 and B3), contracting translation and interpretation services (LB and B2), contracting information and publicity meetings (B2), preparing the tender documentation for the selection of a service provider for development of a joint risk management system (B2), organizing 2 press conferences, procurement of equipment foreseen in the Activity 1(LB), preparing the procurement documents for Emergency Situations Special Equipment Acquisition (LB and B3).

All the actions/activities carried out by the partners in the reported reporting periods have been made for a good/proper implementation of the project: ensuring and coordinating the necessary human and material resources, the good communication between the partners, the visibility of the project and the financing program. In this respect the all the partners contributed to the implementation of the activities, outputs and deliverables foreseen in the application form.
