RO BG 29-"EasyGuide - interactive mobile application for promoting the historical and cultural heritage in the region of Calarasi and Silistra "

The project aims to promote the cross-border region of Calarasi and Silitra as a tourist destination by developing an integrated virtual tourist guide environment

How is it going to happen?                      

  • interactive tour guide environment (ITGE) promoting the regional historical and cultural heritage as touristic sites
  • a mobile application for the ITGE providing an innovative easily accessible product which will promote the region as touristic destination
  • digital displays – located at public places and popular sites promoting the regions’ sites of interest

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: 3 integrated tourism products/services created, 300 expected number of visits to supported sites of cultural and natural heritage and attraction (COI), 1 management plan for valorising (including raising awareness) the cultural and natural heritage through its restoration and promotion for sustainable economic uses

Programme results: 150.000 tourist overnights over the next five years

Project status

Most of the public procurement contracts were already awarded. Several problems were encountered with one of the main procurement procedure related to the elaboration of software, web platform and mobile application, which further on should be relaunched by LB .

LB already signed the supply contract which envisages the purchase and installation of 20 info kiosks, while for B2, the public procurement procedure should be launched in the next period.

The project partners initially defined a draft of the proposed cultural objects to be promoted within the project. At this stage, the contracted company is analyzing the existing cultural and touristic objects in the area Silistra – Calarasi, afterwards establishing the final list of the cultural and touristic objects which will be promoted within the project. Meanwhile, an analysis for establishing the legal framework necessary to be observed for the promotion of the cultural and touristic objects (analysis related to the rights and obligations of the project partners to use and publish information for the proposed objectives) was performed.

Activities related to the project promotion were permanently implemented, including:

1. Starting press-conference organized on 11.07.2018 LB in Silistra;

2. Public debate organized on 23.08.2018 in Silistra;

3. Concerts organized during the period 11-12.09.2018 in Silistra and on 21.09.2018 in Calarasi;

4. Elaboration of the project logo, advertising box in newspapers, elaboration of the profile page in social media, flyers, cups, bags, etc.
