ROBG 122 “Joint initiatives and solutions in addressing emergency situations in the cross border area”

What’s the goal?

To improve joint risk management in the cross-border area by purchasing specific vehicles, machinery and equipment and raising awareness regarding emergency situations.

What’s the budget?

1,174,231.91 euro, out of which 998,097.12 euro ERDF

Target at the half of the implementation period: 552,231 euro

Who is doing it?

Lead Beneficiary (LB): Municipality of Drobeta Turnu Severin (Romania)

Beneficiary 2 (B2): Belogradchik Municipality (Bulgaria)

When is it happening?

Start date:  02.02.2017

End date: 01.02.2019

Duration: 24 months from the date of the last signature of the contract

How is it going to happen?                      

  • Building an early warning system and purchasing of specific intervention machineries and equipment
  • Joint actions to raise awareness to the target groups regarding prevention and management risk in the cross-border area
  • Organizing seminars and awareness raising campaigns
  • Creating and publication of a joint study on joint risk management
  • Organizing press conferences, creating and distributing information and publicity materials
  • 1 joint simulated exercise in case of emergency
  • 1 common intervention group
  • 1 common group of emergency situation management

What will be the results (what’s the contribution to the Programme)?

Programme outputs: at least 5000 people benefiting from flood protection measures; at least 5000 people benefiting from forest fire protection measures; 117,353 people benefiting from actions of risk management; 1 long-term joint partnership in the field of joint early warning and emergency response in the cross-border area.

Project status

Preparations for beginning the project implementation have been made at project beneficiaries’ level.

The LB held the launching project conference on 2nf of August 2017. Also, LB signed the contract for the procurement of the equipment for the Project Management, which was also delivered. JS approved the information and publicity materials to be realized by the project and some of them have also been produced.

LB also signed the contracts for:organizing seminars and campaigns, organizing events for the team and project audit.

B2 held the launching project conference on 23rd of October in Belogradchik. Also, B2 awarded the contracts for “Preparation of tender dossiers” and “Supply of IT equipment and software” which have been completed by the contractors.
